7 Meals That’ll Make You Feel Famous

Never cook again with your own personal chef!

Everyone likes to dream about what they’d spend their newfound money on when they win the lottery. Usually the first things that come to mind are big houses, luxury cars, and expensive, endless vacations.

If someone asked me though, I think one of the first things I’d do would be to hire a personal chef.

Think about it: not only do you never have to be stuck wondering what to eat, but you have someone who makes meals exactly how you like it!

If you want to feel famous when you eat, check out LottoExpress‘ list of 7 famous people and the foods their chefs made for them!

1. Michael Jackson: Enchiladas

7 Favourite Meals of the Rich and Famous

Michael Jackson was the biggest pop star in history. He was known to be quite eccentric, and his food tastes were no different.

When it came to cooking for the King, Jackson’s personal chef in the 80s (named Mani Niall) recalls how difficult that task could often be.

Niall claimed that although Jackson was “vegetarian”, he “didn’t like vegetables”. This proved quite a challenge!

Eventually, Niall found the perfect cuisine: Mexican food. Dishes like spicy enchiladas became a fixture and the table. Jackson also loved tofu kebabs with Couscous and Moroccan Sauce!

Owen Hodgson, her former chef, dishes on a secret cooking tip when prepping for the Queen: “When we cooked the Queen’s mushrooms we always added a smidgen of Marmite”. Sounds savoury and oh so English!

Her current chef, Mark Flanagan, claims that Elizabeth, like her subjects, enjoys a Sunday roast after church. Don’t serve her the rare stuff though; she always prefers the well-done end slice!

7 Favourite Meals of the Rich and Famous

Across the pond, another head of state was known for modest culinary tastes.

When he took over the Oval Office, U.S. President George W. Bush hired a kitchen team who could pull off his favorite comfort foods.

The First Couple were particularly fond of Tex-Mex, a type of cooking created in their native Texas. Their preferred Sunday meal was Huevos Rancheros (eggs and hot salsa on a tortilla).

But W.’s favorite guilty pleasure? Cheeseburger pizza.

According to White House chef Cristeta Comerford, this unusual dish consisted of a margarita pizza with ground beef, mustard, ketchup, and even sliced pickles on top –all the ingredients of a cheeseburger!

13 Lucky Leap-Day Facts for Hitting US$435 MILLION

Leap of the morning to ya! Ever wanted an extra day of symbolic good luck for your lottery fortunes?

It’s 29 February and this day only comes around roughly once every four years. It’s like a free day, so take a leap and have some fun. Your life could change luxuriously in the blink of an eye!

LottoExpress is here to celebrate Leap Day with our Irish-American combo. You will receive a FREE TICKET into the Irish Lotto and play the US Mega Millions, US Powerball and the Irish Lotto for a chance to win a grand total of over US$435 MILLION.

And in the spirit of Leap Day, here are some facts about the holiday you’ve maybe never heard of:

  1. Leap Day exists because it takes the earth approximately 365.25 days to gravitate around the sun in a year, so 29 February compensates for that extra quarter day.
  2. Leap Year was created by the Ancient Roman dictator Julius Caesar, with consultation from the Ancient Greek astrologer Sosigenes of Alexandria. Together, they created what became known as the Julian calendar, the first to feature Leap Years.
  3. Caesar and Sosigenes had the right idea but they oversimplified the mathematical logic in making any year divisible by four a leap year; this issue wasn’t resolved until over 1,500 years later with the introduction of the Gregorian calendar under the rule of Pope Gregory XIII. Now, a leap year is every year divisible by four except for years both divisible by 100 and not divisible by 400.
  4. Leaping frogs are the unofficial animal of Leap Day. They are a symbol of good fortune, and might even be the official food of Leap Day if there was one!
  5. 29 February is also Rare Disease Day.
  6. The modern Chinese calendar adds a whole extra leap month every three years; but which month is often almost a surprise since it varies!
  7. People born on Leap Day are often known as “leaplings” or “leapers.”
  8. The chances of being born on Leap Day are about one in 1,461—better than the chances of bowling a perfect game (about one in 11,500)!
  9. In Taiwan, it is tradition for married daughters to spend Leap Months with their parents; they often bring pig-trotter noodles to wish their parents good health and good fortune.
  10. Only two families in history are thought to have given birth to three Leap Day babies: The Henriksens from Norway in 1960, 1964 and 1968, and the Estes from the United States of America in 2004, 2008 and 2012.
  11. Famous “leapers” include composer Gioacchino Rossini, motivational speaker Tony Robbins, jazz musician Jimmy Dorsey, actor Dennis Farina, actor Antonio Sabato Jr. and rapper/actor Ja Rule.
  12. The leap year of 1848 is known for the famous discovery of gold in California, leading to the lucky Gold Rush of the West!
  13. In Ireland, Leap Day is known as Bachelor’s Day, when it is tradition for women to offer marriage proposals to men; in the custom begun by Queen Margaret of Scotland in 1288, if a man refuses the proposal, he must offer a kiss, a silk dress or 12 pairs of gloves.

Act today and PLAY NOW, and maybe you could turn these 13 lucky Leap Day facts into 435 million reasons to leap for joy!

Happy Leap Year!
